00:00The following tutorial is an instructional video on how to properly calibrate the MD six
00:05tool. It's important that any crimping tool remains
00:09in calibration. A good crimped connection relies on the jaws
00:13closing to the same dimensions. Every time the tool is cycled.
00:17If it is out of calibration, the jaws can't close to the right dimension and will make an
00:22unreliable crimp.
00:23This can be seen if you were to measure the T dimension of the connector.
00:27If the tool is out of calibration, it would make a crimp that falls outside the acceptable
00:32range. Calibration should be performed each time the
00:37tool is used the proper way to check the calibration is to remove both dyes from the
00:43jaws and close the handles just enough to let the jaw tips touch
00:49together without closing them completely check to make sure the orange grooves on the toggle
00:55link and frame line up.
00:58If they do the tool is within calibration and can be used if the grooves don't line up as
01:04shown, use a one quarter inch allen wrench to loosen the lower locking screw,
01:11then turn the upper adjustment screw until the grooves line up
01:20and retighten the lower locking screw.
01:24Now that the tool has been calibrated, the tool is ready to be used.
01:30Thank you for watching.
