00:11This video will demonstrate how to connect your device under test or D and the 800 PL
00:18DC SERIES Hipot in both return grounded mode and guard grounded mode incorrectly
00:24configuring the test set up connections or mode selections on the unit could lead to inaccurate
00:30results or incorrect readings. First, we will review return grounding mode to
00:37begin, make sure the DC Hipot is grounded using the grounded or earth cable that comes from the
00:43DC high pot for safety reasons. This ground cable should be the first lead to
00:49be connected and the last to be disconnected.
00:53Next, connect your dut to the ground. The customer can connect the dut with their own
00:59ground cable. After the D is grounded, connect the return
01:05cable from the D to the DC high pot.
01:13Finally connect the high voltage cable from the DC high pot to the dut.
01:18You use the granted mode when the dut is connected to the ground and the GST button is
01:24selected on the DC high pot.
01:27Now we will discuss guard grounded mode.
01:30This mode is used when very sensitive measurements are required to begin testing.
01:36An ungrounded mode. Connect the DC high pot to the ground using the
01:40grounding cable, do not connect your dut to the ground.
01:46This is very important to remember as you can receive inaccurate leakage current measurements
01:52while your du is floating or not grounded, connect the return cable from the dut to the DC
01:59IPOD. Finally connect the high voltage cable from the
02:04DC high pot to the dut.
02:07Make sure us T or the ungrounded mode is selected on the DC high pot.
02:13If you have any questions, using your Hypotonic 800 PL DC series Hipot,
