00:05Hubbell. The market leader in electrical boxes has added
00:09the STAB-iT II series of 4-11/16 square boxes. This expands our existing line of STAB-iT boxes
00:15which is already preferred by professionals for its built in connectors which offer a three
00:19times faster install for flexible armored cable. Of course,
00:23the larger 4-11/16 opening offers more capacity than the 4 inch model for situations with
00:29bigger cables, multiple conductors, larger devices or whenever the larger opening is just
00:34preferred just like the original STAB-iT.
00:36The STAB-iT includes our unique built in connectors, but we've offered a few more
00:41enhancements for more options for time and labor savings.
00:44First off each STAB-iT box handles three cables instead of two and the connector handles larger
00:49cables than before plus STAB-iT II connectors now include individual release screws providing
00:56added convenience if any one cable needs to be removed.
00:59And the boxes include our TKO an eccentric knockout for either half inch or three quarter
01:04inch on the same side as the cable connector.
01:07Another helpful feature are the bracket options like the M bracket,
01:11which is designed with a three inch deep offset allowing for quick and easy face mounting from
01:16either side, which is especially useful between narrow stud openings or the CM or cable
01:21management bracket, which provides a quick means of securing the cable at the box entry
01:26for the National Electric code. Today, we'll walk through a typical install of
01:30the 252 MSCM and I'll show you a few of the STAB-iT II features in action as well as
01:36demonstrate the time saving benefit of the entire STAB-iT line.
01:39We're here in a new work environment. There are some one gang STAB-iT switch boxes
01:43designed for old work. If your job is a remodel or similar situation
01:47as with any electrical work, make sure the power is off at the breaker for this install.
01:52We're using 14 3 and 10 3 MC cable. Start by fastening the bracket to the metal
01:58stud and then remove the necessary tryouts with the cable already stripped,
02:02run the loose wires into the box through the open tryout,
02:05pushing until you feel it lock into place.
02:08I'll do the same for other cables in the event that something changes and you need to remove a
02:13cable simply loosen the connector screw and the cable will release the 252 SCM includes the
02:19handy cable management clip. So I'll attach the cable which provides the
02:23first means of support for the MC cable and that's all there is to it efficiently installed
02:28in under a minute compared to 2 to 3 minutes using traditional methods.
02:32In addition to this 252 MSCM box, the STAB-iT two series includes these five other four and
02:3811/16 boxes. All part of the Hubble STAB-iT line which
02:42includes 23 box options to reduce the time and labor on almost any job.
